Account Deletion &amp; Data Retention (Sitter App)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>How to delete your account.<\/strong><br>You can delete your account at any time from the Sitter app: <strong>Profile \u2192 Settings \u2192 Delete Account<\/strong>. If you are unable to access the app, you may request deletion by emailing <strong><a>support@petwisecare.com<\/a><\/strong> from the email address linked to your account. We may ask you to verify your identity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What is deleted.<\/strong><br>When you delete your account, we permanently delete or irreversibly anonymize the following, within our production systems:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Profile data (name, display name, profile photo, bio, languages, service areas)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pet and listing data you created<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Conversations and messages (including attachments) where legally permitted<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Offers, quotes, availability entries, saved searches, favorites<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Device identifiers used for push notifications<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Marketing preferences and tokens used for app analytics tied to your identity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Payments and payout data.<\/strong><br>We do not store full payment card details. Payment instruments are tokenized by our payment processor (e.g., Stripe, Barion). Upon account deletion we remove our references to your payment profiles and instruct our processor to <strong>delete or de-identify<\/strong> any linked customer profile to the extent permitted by their legal obligations and policies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What we may retain (and why).<\/strong><br>Certain information must be retained for <strong>legal, regulatory, fraud-prevention, security, or accounting<\/strong> purposes. This may include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Transaction records, invoices, payout records and receipts<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Tax-relevant data and audit logs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Records of consents, account status changes, and abuse\/fraud prevention logs<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Aggregated or anonymized analytics that cannot identify you<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We keep this data <strong>only as long as required by applicable law<\/strong> (for example, accounting\/tax records are commonly retained for <strong>6\u201310 years<\/strong>, depending on jurisdiction) or for the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims. After these periods expire, data is deleted or anonymized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Backups.<\/strong><br>Deleted data may persist in encrypted backups for up to <strong>90 days<\/strong> due to disaster-recovery procedures. It is automatically purged on the next scheduled rotation and is not used for any active processing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Third-party processors.<\/strong><br>Where we share data with processors (e.g., hosting, payments, analytics, customer support), we instruct them to delete or de-identify your personal data consistent with this policy and applicable law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Effects of deletion.<\/strong><br>Account deletion is <strong>irreversible<\/strong>. Your profile becomes inaccessible, your messages and listings are removed (subject to the retention exceptions above), and you will lose access to bookings\/offers and any remaining credits or promotions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Your rights.<\/strong><br>Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, delete, or port your personal data.
